Everything about the shaver is great. This is the second braun shaver I've have owend. The frist one was the 7526, a very old shaver, one of the frist one that Braun sold. I have owned the 7526 for over 10 years and like it so much that I had to buy a new one when my wife broke it. The Braun 8585 is much quieter then the 7526 was, and the 8585 does not have the arm that attaches to the top of the shaver for cleaning.
I had to buy two new cleaning units for the 7526. And the cleaning time for the 8585 is much quicker too. All in all the 8585 is a much better shaver then its predecessor.
I would highly recommend this shaver to any one that is looking for an electric shaver. I'm very happy with this shaver and will buy a another one when the time comes. It has NEVER let me down and it still works just as good today as the day I purchased it! I have had to change the cutter and screen every six (6) months and I learned a very important lesson that you can also verify on the internet under 8585 Braun reviews. You must purchase the cutter and screen that is specifically for the 8000 series.
DO NOT purchase Braun's attempt to cut their cost by purchasing the dual use cutter/screen assembly that is made to fit the 51S & the 8000 series as it's tolerance is sloppy since it is made to fit two totally different razors Plus the fact that your shaves will not be near as close as they were with the item specific blad es. I have no respect for Braun for trying to cut their cost at our expense. Other than what I pointed out I have found this razor to be a AAA+ Best Buy!
